Fully Rested

Plowing shifts are usually at night or early in the morning. Getting plenty of rest helps the operator with alertness, especially when constantly backing up.

Appropriate Clothing

Dressing in layers keeps an operator comfortable in the cab. Should they need to step out of the vehicle, the clothing is their only insulation.

Inspect Equipment

Always inspect the vehicle and plow or pusher before starting your plowing shift. Check the wiper blades, defroster, and keep your flares fully stocked up.

Check Gauges

Keep an eye on temperature gauges to avoid overheating the vehicle’s engine. To prevent poor airflow to your radiator, adjust the plow before transporting it.
